"Driver had a cracked windscreen which was definitely illegal to drive. Also didn’t wear a seatbelt for the whole of the drive (approx 30 minutes). He didn’t track our flight as stated he would so didn’t know we had been delayed by around 30 minutes but fortunately for us it was within the waiting time."

"Not a good experience. Never again. Book direct with the taxi company not via Taxicode. Even though I added the return flight time on to the booking form John Port Taxi’s subcontracted the pickup to someone else who they told the incorrect flight time to so they were not waiting at the airport for us. When I called to chase them ,I was spoken to like a piece of rubbish. They also tried to charge £5 for dropping off in the carpark. AVOID"

"Firstly, let me stress that the driver and car and the whole experience I received from John Port Cars was absolutely spot on. They were brilliant. I am totally disgusted with the person I spoke to at Taxicode. I needed to change my pick up time. I gave plenty of notice, he was aloof, extremely rude and then to top it off he told me I would be charged an extra £5 admin charge for changing the time. Then they did not pass this information on to John Port Cars until the original time of pick up! I will never ever use Taxicode again. Next time I need a driver I will go direct to John Port Cars! The only tip I would like to give is don’t go through Taxicode, go direct to a taxi firm. "

"On the outward journey I was delayed and notified the company. They said they would monitor the flight and ensure I was met whatever time the flight arrived. On arrival they phoned me and I was met. On the return journey the driver arrived 15 minutes early because there had been an incident on the road. We did get held up but he knew a short cut and got me to the airport on time. I was very impressed with service, reliability and forward thinking of the company. Very pleasant staff too. "

"There was no taxi to greet us. I phoned and was told the wrong time. I phoned after 20 minutes, the time we were told a taxi would arrive. I phoned again, and was told it would be another 5 to ten minutes. By this time the taxi was 1 hour late. Eventually a clapped out blue van appeared. We had ordered a saloon. The driver tried to make out it was our fault, and that he had had to pay £2 of his own money to get into the car park drop off zone. He scoffed when I said if we were late by half an hour we would be charged another £5, so as he was late he really owed us £5! The van was old and draughty, but no apologies given."

"Absolutely excellent service. We were contacted in advance of our scheduled arrival time & then again by the driver himself. Our driver was superb - he was more than helpful with getting the luggage into the car (2 very large & heavy cases & 2 cabin bags) & was thoughtful enough to offer to stop at the service station in case we needed a comfort break (we had been travelling for 26 hours!). He then wanted to bring the luggage right to our boat but we were ok to manage that. The driver was courteous, very professional & very polite - & recognised when we had run out of steam so our conversation slowed down to a stop. Highly recommend this service."

"Both the driver and the car were excellent. But I want to make special mention of the exception service my wife and I received on the day in question. We had a 10am appointment at Derby Royal Hospital. As fate would have it, a serious accident on the A52 hours beforehand alerted the taxi company to the fact that we may need to allow significantly more time for our journey. They sent a car an extra hour earlier to combat the situation, and we made our appointment in plenty of time, thanks to their professionalism and insight."
